T Magazine by The New York Times: "Really, it’s a must-have for all women, not just mothers."
The book is an encyclopedia of everything that can happen to a
woman after becoming a mother - hair loss, "mom brain," a
less-than-taut stomach and no time or energy to do anything about
it - and, most important, what to do to remedy it. It's also a
guide to nutrition, beauty, alternative and traditional health,
style and fitness. "We come last in our families' priorities," the
author says. "But the mother's role is so important in the family
unit. If she can't cope, the whole house of cards falls down. She's
the foundation stone."
T Magazine by The New York Times, 2012 - "Really, it’s a must-have for all women, not just mothers."
"I looked for a book that would have everything in it but found
you'd need to buy about 30 books to learn everything - one on yoga,
one on psychology, relationships, food, exercise, etc." So, on the
sidelines of rugby matches and "in car parks doing pick-ups from
swimming" Porter compiled one guide that would cover it all; she's
taken every tip you've read about in health articles and tried to
mentally catalog and put them together for you, adding interesting
trivia and helpful drawings throughout. Really, it's a must-have
for all women, not just mothers. (Porter is working on another
edition not specific to moms.)
